This course has been created to prepare new and experienced instructors to introduce the new and exciting world of Foiling Dinghy to a larger audience in a safe and progressive manner. The course will combine on-water training and assessment of teaching skills with shore-based sessions covering teaching techniques and related theory topics.
Successful students will gain the Sopraventus Foiling Dinghy Instructor Certificate (a further two days.)

- History of foiling boat (brief notes)
- The role of the foil in the modern sailing
- Physical principles of foil
- Different types of boats and equipment
- Different nomenclature
- Different types of foil appendix, shapes and trim

13:00 – BOAT RIGGING – BOAT CHECK
14:00 – DOCK OUT – PRACTICE SESSION
- Goal: take off and stabilize on the foil

- Steps for teaching how to foil:
- First step: take off and stable flying on reaching
- Second step: point of sailing: upwind, broad reach – gently attempt
- Third step: point of sailing: advanced skills and speed
- Fourth step: foiling manover

- Goal: master points of sail (upwind – Broad Reach) – Advanced technique
