HIGH PERFORMANCE TEAM

Sopraventus High Performance Team is an international group of Opti sailors directly mentored and coached by Simone Ricci.

The Team is by invitation only. Highly motivated, skilled and athletically prepared sailors are considered fundamental to reach the most desired goals.

Any member of Sopraventus HP Team may/ is encouraged to sail in a home country sailing program and has a privilege to hone sailing skills together with other strongest sailors from different parts of the World in the International environment.

The Team follows specific practice routines focused on improving all the Athletic aspects (Eating Habits, Technical Skills, Focus and Mental approach to racing). Sailors of the Team have a priority in testing and acquiring all the top sailing equipment that aim to identify, analyze, reduce weaknesses and improve sailors’ strengths.

Sailors are required to attend most of the trainings and scheduled races.

SIMONE RICCI

Sopraventus High Performances & Atlantis Academy Coach Director – 5 Times World Champion (fleet and team racing) coach from Rome Italy

MARCO GIANGRANDE

Head Optimist Coach Circolo Nautico Brenzone (Garda), in this years he won many races of the Italian circuit, the most recent of which was the first and second places in the Italian Championship of the Cadet division.

FEDERICO COLANINNO

His sailing activity as an athlete ranges from the Finn Olympic class, with two gold medal at the Under 21 World Championship in 2017 and 2018, to the one-design Swan 50 on which he won gold at the 2022 World Cup.

MAURO BERTEOTTI

Sailing Director at Fraglia Vela Riva- Born and raised in Riva del Garda, Italy. In the last 10 years + of coaching his teams won more than hundreds of awards.

JONAS DE LA CRUZ

Head Coach of Atlantis Academy and Coach of the Federacion Canaria de Vela, he has had many athletes in the top Spanish winning also International events like Palamos and Excellence Cup.
